III. Economic Development
Economic Development is a broad, qualitative term that includes economic growth - but generally refers to improvements in community & quality of life, infrastructure development & rehabilitation, entrepreneurs support & job creation, healthcare & education, and lifting individuals & neighborhoods out of poverty, among others. In Philadelphia, economic development is a public-private, multi-sector partnerships, led by entities such as PIDC & city agencies, nonprofit organizations & the private sector to provide financing & support for businesses and community groups.
Community Capital Advisors (CCA) has worked in the community development space at the SME & neighborhood-level for more than a quarter century - spearheading and/or providing technical supports to form and/or assist CDFIs, childcare & social impact projects, and small independent businesses. As we recalibrate and recapitalize CCA into a compliant CDFI, we are prioritizing a place-based approach and a site-specific strategy. We are centering initial efforts on cost-effective housing development in Mt. Airy and Northwest Philadelphia. We’re also continuing to provide technical assistance to our current community partners and nurturing new entrepreneurial talent commitment to the future and the entrepreneurial journey.
